Award Winning Shweta Ratanpura Makes History in India 2020 Update.

Award Winning Shweta Ratanpura: Back in the days, women were known to only do little in the field but more in homes. Women built homes and were mostly creative in mixing food ingredients to create delicious meals.

Well, time has passed and the world has changed, women are now on the mainstream doing as well as their male counterparts.

Women are starting and running businesses, spearheading inventions, achieving amazing academic qualifications and winning awards. One of such women is Shweta Ratanpura of India; her story is what we will bring to your attention in this article.

WorldSkills is an international skills event organised every two years. It is the world’s biggest vocational education and skills excellence event. The recently concluded event recorded a total of 1350 participants from 63 countries.

At the competition, Indian contingents bagged 19 medals which includes one gold, one silver, two bronze and 15 medals of excellence. This puts India on the international list, holding the 13th position as compared to its last time’s 19th position.

The women of India have continued to make their nation proud by becoming the ‘firsts’ in varied fields. This same accomplishment was attained by one of India’s daughters;

, who became the first ever Indian woman candidate to win a medal at the WorldSkills event, in Russia’s Kazan.

A graphic design student from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Shweta Ratanpura won a bronze medal in the category of graphic designing, making the entire nation rejoice the victory.

This event sees that young people from all corners of the world compete for the prestigious medal in their chosen field.

There were competitions in 56 skills across a wide range of industries, from joinery to floristry; hairdressing to electronics; and auto-body repair to bakery.

To appreciate the achievement of Ratanpura and other participants, the Skill Ministry released a statement that read, “Blazing a trail of glory for India at the global stage,

the 48-member Indian team returned with the best-ever finish at the WorldSkills International Competition 2019 in Kazan, Russia by winning 19 medals and medallions of excellence.”
