The Central Bank invites applicants to apply for its six-month internship program in Kenya.

Opportunities for these functions currently exist: Finance and research, Banking/Paid Services, Human Resource Communication, and Legal Services.

This Internship Program is aimed at developing the young talents needed for employment opportunities in Kenyan banks and the financial sector.

The Act of Parliament of March 24, 1966 established the Central Bank of Kenya. It opened its doors to public on September 14, 1966. The Constitution now anchors the Bank under Article 231.

The Bank’s mandate is to develop and implement a monetary policy that promotes price stability and fosters liquidity, solvency, and stability in the banking sector.

CBK Internship Program: What is it?

Qualification requirements for the CBK Internship Programme

Basic Requirements

A) A recognized university degree in one of the following fields: Finance, Economics or Statistics, Banking or Accounting, Micro-Finance or Management, Social Sciences, Law or a related discipline;

b) Kenyans between 21 and 29 years old;

c) Must have graduated in the 24 months preceding the closing date of this advertisement, or be awaiting graduation.

d) Applicants must provide a recommendation/reference letter from the university attended; and

e) Must not have participated in any Internship Programs or had work experience related to their study area since graduation.

Personal Attributes

A) Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills

b) Must be focused, goal-oriented, energetic, passionate, and self-motivated

c) Must be a team player with the ability to solve problems

d) Must possess integrity and professionalism. e) Must have computer proficiency
