AICPA Foundation CPA Exam Scholarship is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by the Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU).
About the Scholarship
After John Carey retired from the AICPA in 1969, members of the accounting community created the John L. Carey Scholarship Award in his honor.
Mr. Carey worked for the AICPA for 40 years, holding the positions of administrative vice president, executive director, editor, and publisher of the Journal of Accountancy.
Mr. Carey made it a point to support promising students who wanted to become CPAs during his whole career in service to the accounting industry.

Requirements for AICPA Foundation CPA Exam Scholarship
1. Prior to enrolling in a graduate accounting program, has a liberal arts or other non-business undergraduate degree from a regionally approved university in the United States.
2. Not have over 12 accounting credits during their undergraduate studies.
3. Not taking part in a graduate accounting program actively.
4. Considering pursuing a graduate-level accounting degree or a major closely connected to accounting starting in the fall of the school year 2022–2022. (Sponsor shall determine what is “accounting-related” in its own discretion.) A student will take the CPA exam thanks to this curriculum.
5. Having no current CPA status but intending to acquire CPA licensing.
6. Enrolled as a full-time graduate level student (9 semester hours or equivalent) for the full 2022-23 academic year. (Note: an exception may be granted if you plan to participate in an internship program.)
7. An AICPA Student Affiliate member (or have submitted a new member application). Apply online at no cost: https://thiswaytocpa.com/join-aicpa/.
8. A U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder).
9. Some financial need (i.e., not already be receiving a full or partial scholarship (s) that covers or exceeds one’s educational expenses).
10. Enrolled in a business and/or accounting program that is regionally, nationally or internationally accredited for the full 2022-23 academic year.
The program must be accepted by the state board of accountancy as meeting the educational requirements necessary for CPA licensure in the state you intend to become licensed OR in the state where your program is located.
