The Loran Scholars Foundation is a Canadian independent charitable organization that was established in 1998 by Dr. Robert Cluett.

The foundation believes invest in young Canadians who are of good character and are willing to make the world a better place. They offer scholarships and awards every year to eligible students.

From its inception, the foundation has awarded over $57 million worth of undergraduate scholarships to students across the country. Loran Foundation is supported by 25 Canadian universities, volunteers, and donors.

They believe there’s more to life than academics and students who demonstrate good character, service, and leadership should be supported.

Apart from the scholarship opportunity available to students, Loran Foundation has a program for teachers. Graduating Loran Scholars can nominate their former teachers for the Loran Teacher Building Leaders Award which is funded by McCall MacBain Foundation.

There are a lot of benefits of being a Loran scholar. You are matched with a reputable Canadian leader who will mentor you for 4 years.

Scholars also get access to paid summer internships which will last for 3 months and can take place in Canada or abroad. This will help gain valuable work experience in your field of study.

Loran Scholars are also privileged to be part of a peer network where they can meet other students, attend events and even participate in the Scholars forum. After graduation, Scholars can join the alumni community within and outside the country.
