1. Patsy Takemoto Mink Award
The Foundation will award five $5000 School Support Awards in 2022 to low-income women with children who are pursuing education or training.
Late in the fall, awardees are contacted by phone or email. Shortly after, the receiver is notified.
Only grantees will be contacted by the Foundation. We cannot contact each applicant to update her application progress.
Over the course of the academic year, awards are distributed in two payments (one each semester) and may be used for direct school expenditures or living expenses while enrolled in an educational program.

2. A woman with minor children is required.
3. Must seek a first degree at a postsecondary level of education (e.g., vocational, associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral) AND degree program must add to level of education achieved (e.g., bachelor’s after associate’s, or advanced degree after bachelor’s)
4. Must seek a degree/credential at a school that does not discriminate based on sex/gender, lgbtq+ status/identity, race/ethnicity, religion, handicap, or immigration status.
5. During the 2022-23 academic year, you must be enrolled in a not-for-profit, accredited college or program in the United States.

8. Ford Opportunity Program
Hallie E. Ford found the Ford Opportunity Program (1905-2007), a founder of The Ford Family Foundation, to help single parents pursue a college education.
