Eligibility Criteria

1. Generation Google Scholarship for Current University Students
To be eligible to apply for the Generation Google scholarship applicant must:
1. Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university.
2. Also, must intend to be enrolled as a full-time student at a university in the US or Canada. Or be accepted as a full-time student at a university in the US or Canada.
3. Furthermore, must be pursuing a computer science or computer engineering degree. Or a degree in a closely related technical field
4. Additionally, must exemplify leadership. Also, must demonstrate a passion for computer science and technology.
5. Furthermore, must exhibit a strong record of academic achievement.
6. Also, must be a student from an underrepresented group in computer science. That is either African American, Hispanic, American Indian, or Filipino/Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander.
7. However, students who identify as female should apply for the Women Techmakers Scholars Program. While those students with disabilities should apply for the Google Lime Scholarship.
Thus, from the above, therefore, note. Students are welcome to apply for all programs that they are eligible for.
2. Generation Google Scholarship for current high school seniors
To be eligible to apply for the Generation Google scholarship applicant must:
1. Be a current high school senior.
2. Also, must intend to be enrolled as a full-time student at a university in the US or Canada. Or accepted as a full-time student at a university in the US or Canada.
3. Furthermore, must intend to pursue a computer science or computer engineering degree. Also, or a degree in a closely related technical field.
4. Additionally, must exemplify leadership. Also, must demonstrate a passion for computer science and technology
5. Furthermore, must exhibit a strong record of academic achievement.
6. Plus, must be a student from an underrepresented group in computer science. That is either African American, Hispanic or American. And also either Indian, Filipino/Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Female, or a Person with a Disability.
7. Lastly, must be available to attend Google’s Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI)in the summer.
Application Process

1. Current University Students
The online application will include:
1. General background information. Thus, this includes contact information. And information about your current and intended institutions.
2. Also, current resume.
3. Additionally, academic transcripts from your current and prior institutions. However, that is if you have earned a prior degree.
4. Furthermore, two letters of reference from a professor, instructor, adviser or supervisor.
5. Plus, responses to four essay questions.
2. Current High School Seniors
The online application will include:
1. General background information. Thus, this includes contact information. And information about your current and intended institutions.
2. Also, current resume.
3. Additionally, academic transcript.
4. Furthermore, responses to multiple short answer questions.
It is important you note that recipients will be selected based on the overall strength of their essays. And also based on application materials compared to the entire applicant pool.
The Scholarship’s Benefits
Selected students will receive 10,000 USD. However, this is for those studying in the US. Also those studying in Canada will receive 5,000 CAD.

Terms and Conditions of the Scholarship
The following are some of the terms and condition of the Generation Google scholarship:
1. The Generation Google Scholarship award must be spent on tuition, fees and books. Also, must be spent on supplies and equipment required for the students’ classes at their primary university.
2. Furthermore, scholarship recipients must be enrolled as full time students the academic year.
3. However, note. Enrollment will be verified after the winners are selected.
4. Also all scholarship payments will be made directly to the student. And this is to be used towards tuition and education-related expenses.
5. Additionally, the scholarship will be withheld for any scholar who no longer meets the eligibility requirements.
6. Also, the scholarship will be revoked for any scholar who does not maintain the eligibility requirements.
7. Furthermore, selected recipients will receive instructions from Google on how to receive the award. Thus, failure to complete these steps by the specified deadline will disqualify recipients from receiving the award.
8. Also, recipients may defer their award for up to one (1) year. However, this is from the time of originally planned payment on a case by case basis as determined by Google.
9. Also, Google employees are not eligible to apply for Google scholarships.
10. Additionally, persons who are (1) residents of embargoed countries, (2) ordinarily resident in embargoed countries, or (3) otherwise prohibited by applicable export controls and sanctions programs may not apply for this scholarship.
