– DAAD/NRF 2022 Scholarship –

Daad in partnership with National Research Foundation (NRF) is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students for their DAAD/NRF 2022 Scholarship. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students.

About German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

DAAD scholarship in Germany is a private, federally funded and state-funded, self-governing national agency of the institutions of higher education in Germany, representing 365 German higher education institutions (100 universities and technical universities, 162 general universities of applied sciences, and 52 colleges of music and art) [2003].

The DAAD itself does not offer programs of study or courses, but awards competitive, merit-based grants for use toward study and/or research in Germany at any of the accredited German institutions of higher education.

Aim and Benefits of DAAD/NRF 2022 Scholarship

1. Fully funded scholarship for postgraduate studies in South Africa.

2. Mobility grant for a short-term research visit of 3–6 months to Germany.

3. Participation in one of six interdisciplinary summer schools on offer in Germany.

4. Participation in an annual networking conference in South Africa hosted by the DAAD Information Centre in Johannesburg.

1. South African nationals or permanent residents.

2. Female applicants are especially encouraged to apply.

Selection Process

1. Up to two years for the Master’s, up to three years for the PhD.

2. With this scholarship, the scholarship holder can also elect to do a Short-Term Research Visit to Germany for 2–6 months!
