How Much is the Bill Gates Scholarship?
A Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the entire cost of attending Cambridge, including tuition, a maintenance allowance (£18,384 for 12 months at the 2022-23 rate), travel expenses, visa fees, and so on.
It also provides discretionary funding for things like academic development, family allowance, fieldwork, and so on.
In addition to funding, The Gates Scholarship will support scholars by interacting with them and their institutions in a variety of ways to ensure they have access to the resources and services they require.
Eligibility for the Gates Scholarships
To be eligible for the Gates scholarship, you need to be :
1. A high school senior.
2. From at least one of the following ethnicities: African-American, /Alaska Native, Asian & Pacific Islander American, and/or Hispanic American,
3. Pell-eligible.
4. A US citizen, national, or .
5. A minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
6. Besides these criteria, an ideal candidate for the Gates Scholarships program must show:
7. An outstanding academic record in high school (in the top 10% of his/her graduating class).
8. Leadership ability (e.g., as shown through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities).
9. Exceptional personal success skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.).
10. The candidate must plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US-accredited, not-for-profit, private, or public college or university.

This includes the application as well as all associated support services, such as mentoring, academic support, career and internship guidance, and more, if selected as a Scholar.
From July 15, 2022, to September 15, 2024, online applications will be accepted.
The sixth scholarship cohort will be chosen in April 2022, with awards distributed between July and September of that year.
