AfWA Research Scholarships 2022 Application Update

AfWA Research Scholarships is accepting applications as part of its Capacity-Building Program for African Stakeholders in the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Sector (AfriCap), which is supported by USAID.

Students pursuing master’s degrees and engineers who are in their final year of training are eligible for the Scholarship for Young Water and Sanitation Professionals.

The AfWA Research Scholarships

The (AfWA) is a professional group of businesses, organizations, and services in Africa engaged in the provision of clean water, sanitary facilities, and environmental protection.

African Young Water and Sanitation Professionals are given research scholarships by the African Water Association as part of its capacity-building program for African stakeholders in the water, sanitation, and hygiene sector (AfriCap), which is supported by USAID.

Each fellowship, with a maximum value of USD 1,000 (one thousand US dollars), will allow recipients to do research on a subject connected to the WASH sector that has been approved by a scientific report.

Benefits of AfWA Research Scholarships

The most money that can be given to each recipient is $1,000 USD.

Upon completion, approval by the research supervisor, and receipt by the AfWA Research and Capacity Development Program Coordinator, sixty percent (60%) of this sum will be paid to the recipient.

Once the grantee turns in the electronic version of their final research report, the remaining 40% will be reimbursed.

Requirements for AfWA Research Scholarships

1. Applicants for the scholarship program will choose a theme from this call for applications to which they will relate their research questions.

2. They will also be able to submit an application for one of the study subjects that an AfWA member has suggested. On the AfWA website, topics will be accessible.

The following prerequisites must be met by applicants in order to apply:

a. Possess citizenship in one of the qualified sub-Saharan African nations.

b. Being in good academic standing with their university.

c. Submit an application file, including:

e. Last completed degree.

3. Curriculum vitae (3 pages max).

4. Three recommendation letters (one should be from the academic supervisor).

5. Download a research proposal form from the AfWA website.
