The ominous features of the moral climate of our school are ubiquitous and conspicuous even to causal observed rampant fraud, stealing and robbery with violence, gross indiscipline, truancy, examination malpractices or cheating in an examination, occultisms. All these and more, characterize the attitudes of our students in Ohaozara secondary schools which relegates the poison of moral and religious instructions to the background. These and more constitute problems which need urgent solutions.
3. PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitudes of students towards moral and religious instructions in secondary schools in Ohaozara .
NEED FOR THE STUDY
The study shows the reasons responsible for the attitude of students’ attitude forwards moral and religious institutions in secondary school in Ohaozara Local Government Area students) exhibit lukewarm and wanton attitudes towards the subject. Only very few students react positively both in theory and practice towards moral and religious instruction for their moral growth and development. Hence Chijioke (1981) further maintained “the twin subject is hardly separable as it pursues the same vital goal targeted at reducing and probably eliminating our meaning social norms (P.4)
