PTDF Scholarship 2023/2024 Application Portal Update

PTDF Scholarship 2023/2024, which is fully funded and sponsored by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), is presently accepting applications from eligible students.

The PTDF Scholarship 2022 /2024

The PTDF, a government agency that aims to develop local talent and technology for the oil and gas industry, is seeking applications from qualified candidates for its 2023/2024 Overseas Scholarship Scheme.

The scheme offers MSc and PhD scholarships for specific programs at selected institutions.

The provides candidates with access to a wide range of knowledge and resources available at top institutions worldwide.

Interested applicants can apply through PTDF for specific programs at partner institutions.

Scholarship benefits include airfare, health insurance, tuition and bench fees (if applicable), as well as allowances to cover housing and living expenses.

MSc Requirements

1. To be eligible, applicants must have at least a Second Class Upper (2.1) degree or a Second Class Lower (2.2) degree with appropriate industry experience.

2. Successful completion of the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program is required.

3. Proficiency in computer skills.

4. Possession of five O/level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

5. Applicants must submit a statement of purpose (up to 500 words), which should describe the purpose of their proposed study, its significance to the industry, and the potential impact on national development.

PhD Requirements

1. Fulfillment of the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) requirement is necessary.

2. Proficiency in computer skills.

3. Attainment of a good second-degree certificate with at least a Second Class Lower (2.2) in their first degree.

4. The scholarship requires a research proposal that is no more than five pages long and must address the following areas, which are relevant to the oil and gas industry:

  • Title.
  • Introduction.
  • Research Problem.
  • Aim.
  • Research Questions/Objectives.
  • Scope.
  • Summarized Literature.
  • Methodology.
  • Expected outcomes only where necessary.

Required Documents

It is recommended that applicants scan copies of the following documents and attach them to their online application forms:

1. First Degree Certificate or Statement of Result.

2. NYSC discharge certificate.

3. WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO results and the corresponding PINs on the application forms to allow PTDF to access the O’level results on the relevant website.

4. Recent Passport Photograph.

5. Local Government Identification Letter.

6. Master’s Degree Certificate (PhD Applicants only).

7. Proof of membership in professional associations.
