The SMU Cox MBA Scholarships
Every year, presents the SMU Cox MBA Scholarships, which are merit-based scholarships for the Business Administration master’s program.
The selection of recipients is based on their demonstrated academic performance, GMAT score, professional experience, and leadership potential.
The Cox School of Business is pleased to collaborate with Forte Foundation to further enhance the number of women who pursue graduate-level business education.
Host Nationality
The scholarship takes place in the United States.
Level/Field of Study
This scholarship is intended for international students who are enrolled in a Master’s Degree program or MBA program.
Eligible Nationality
SMU Cox MBA Scholarships are available for both domestic and international students studying in the USA.
Eligibility for Scholarship
The Admissions Committee at SMU Cox School of Business aims to select a diverse group of candidates who possess the following characteristics:
1. Significant professional and life experiences.
2. Strong academic skills, leadership potential, interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Personal traits such as integrity, self-confidence, maturity, and motivation.

Successful applicants typically have several years of full-time work experience, a strong undergraduate academic background, and competitive scores on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).
It is also desirable that applicants are computer literate and have a basic understanding of e-mail, the Internet, and spreadsheets.
While not mandatory, knowledge of calculus, accounting, statistics, and microeconomics is highly recommended.
Selection Criteria
The scholarship awardees are chosen based on their academic excellence, GMAT scores, professional background, and potential for leadership.
Application Process
The Cox MBA Admissions Committee considers your application, supporting documents, and personal interview in the selection process.
They encourage you to provide a comprehensive and honest portrayal of yourself. After completing and submitting your application, the committee will review it.
If selected, you will receive an invitation for an evaluative interview.
The complete application comprises several components, including the following:
1. Online application forms.
2. Professional résumé.
3. Essays.
4. Score on the GMAT or GRE taken within the past five years.
5. Degreed undergraduate transcript.
International applicants should provide a TOEFL, IELTS, or Pearson Test of English score taken within the last two years, if applicable. More information can be found in the International Applicants section.

Application Deadline
The submission deadlines for the SMU Cox MBA program are as follows: Round 1 – October 16, 2022; Round 2 – December 4, 2022; Round 3 – January 8, 2022; Round 4 – March 5, 2022 (for international applicants);
Round 5 – April 30, 2022 (for domestic applicants). Applications received after these rounds will be considered on a rolling basis.
