SUMMARY ON ADVERSE DRUG REACTION

Adverse drug reaction represent a major source of mobility and mortality and must be considered in the differntila diagnosis of patient who are experience new medical problems or whose chemical status us worsening.

Familiarly with antibiotic induced adverse effects can improve drug selection and reduce reactions. Before antibiotics therapy is started, the potential benefit and the possible adverse effects should be weighted in light of each patient’s situation.

Prevention is the best route, but if adverse events do occurs. They must be recognised and concerted promptly. They best treatmet for any kind of drug rection is to discontinue the drug promptly an dto warn about future exposure to the same drug cross-reacting drugs.

Avoid the use fo antibiotics asscoaited with prior reaction when an alterantive antibiotic of equal efficiency can be found. If there is no appropriate alterantive refer for testing for drug allergy.
