Indian Visa for Nigerians: Do you have plans to travel to India? This article is an attempt to save you time and money by preparing you for your visa submission at the Indian Embassy.
Requirements
‣photocopy of your passport data page
2. identical white background photo passports showing your complete face (5cmx5cm)
3. A valid International Passport
4. Application Form fully completed and printed. There are almost as many Indian visa types as there are Indian gods. While filling your visa form online, select that which concerns you.

Complete the visa form and print:
1. Yellow card (international vaccination card),
2. Verifiable Hotel reservation/bookings(If your host will accommodate you, your invitation letter must state that)
3. Bank Statement as proof of financial status (6 months recent bank statement or financial support letter from an employer with 6 months bank statement in a case where the Employer is sponsoring the trip)
4. Marriage Certificate if applicable
5. Flight Booking
If you are traveling for Official or Business reasons include the following
i. Letter of Employment
This letter is one from your employer offering you employment within your organization.
ii. Letter of Introduction from Employer
Your employer duly signed this letter acknowledging you as a staff of the establishment
iii. Photocopy of Work ID card
iv. Letter of Invitation from Indian Business Contact/Confirmation of Training/Conference
The Indian Business or Company must sign and stamp this letter you will do business with, containing full details of the company’s allowed representative; physical address, and phone numbers. The email with which they sent it should also accompany it. For clarity, print both the email and attachment.
If you are traveling for Medical reasons include the following
1. Medical Report from Nigerian Hospital
This report will identify you as a patient, and state your medical condition

2. Letter of Reference from Nigerian Hospital
The Nigerian hospital referring you to India must sign and stamp this letter. Also, must certify that you are the patient with the stated condition.
3. Letter of Invitation from Hospital in India
The Indian Hospital you will be going to for treatment must sign and stamp this letter. The email with which it was sent should also accompany it. For clarity, print both the email and attachment.
4. Copy Attendant Visa Application
Since you are ill, they expect you to be traveling in the company of someone who will take care of you during this time, your attendant. Your attendant will apply for an attendant visa.
You are expected to attach a copy of the Attendant Visa application to your application.
If you are traveling for Tourism, include the following
i. Identification Card of Your Tourist Guide/Letter of Invitation from Tourist Contact in India
This letter must be signed and stamped by the Indian Hospital you will be going to for treatment. It should also be accompanied by the email with which it was sent. For clarity, print both the email and attachment.
ii. ECIS Pehchan Card of Tour Guide
Employees’ State Insurance card is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme for Indian workers. This card certifies your tour guide.
How to Apply
Applying at the Embassies
1. Schedule an appointment with your nearest embassy.
2. Submit your documents and application fee at the embassy.
3. Collect your passport once they have notified you it’s ready with your Indian visa (alternatively, you can have your visa and passport sent to you by post).
Applying Online
1. Visit the registration page.
2. Fill out the form
3. Click “Continue” to receive a temporary application ID.
4. Fill out the second form asking for all the required information for your application, as mentioned above in the visa requirements.
5. After completing the form, the system will then ask you if you wish to pay online and make an appointment. Click “Yes” to do so if you wish. Clicking “No” will give you a printout of your form.

6. If you selected “No”, you must take the printout to your nearest Indian embassy.
7. If you have selected “Yes”, the system will ask you to confirm your appointment at the nearest embassy and calculate your visa fee, which includes the service charge and VAT.
8. If you cannot schedule an appointment or pay online for your embassy, take a printout of your form and pay there.
9. Follow Step 3 under “Applying at the Embassies”.
