We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1. Job Title: Borno Agricultural Development Initiative (BADI) Intern

Location: Biu, Borno

Length of Internship: 12 months

Project Description

1. Borno Agricultural Development Initiative (BADI) is one of 3 projects that make up Mercy Corps Markets, Agricultural Livelihood and Livestock (MALL) Programme.
2. The specific goal of the BADI Project is to introduce food insecure communities to sustainable, context-appropriate, smart agricultural practices and to catalyse the market for seeds and other agricultural markets in Borno State.

Intern Responsibilities

1. Support program team in BADI project management and administration.
2. Support the program Assistant in ensuring that the BADI program works according to plan.
3. Assist and support the program team in mobilization and sensitization of community members.
4. Support in conducting registration and training to SHF and VAs.
5. Work with the program officer in the facilitation of community meetings and engagement.
6. Support the team in raising PRs and another Procurement process.
7. Support program team in program file update, as well as other duties, assign.

Learning Objectives – At the end of the internship period, the intern should have acquired the following skills and knowledge:

Learning goals:

1. Develop a working knowledge of program intervention.
2. Understand the process of program filling tree
3. Attend training and workshops on VSLA methodology.
4. Have better knowledge of Good Agricultural Practice (GAP)
5. Increase knowledge on Farmers Business School (FBS)
6. Increase knowledge on permaculture, sack/backyard gardening and hydroponics
7. Develop competencies on program implementation and management
8. Increase knowledge on extension services

Work Goals:

1. Complete all SHFsregistration.
2. Training of Village Agents on VSLA methodology conducted and best practice.
3. Services and items are procured timely for program activities.
4. Ensure learnings are put to use for quality program delivery.
5. Ensure that the program achieve set goals.

Requirements

Ideal Candidate should possess the following qualifications:

1. A minimum of NCE, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
2. Excellent communication skills
3. A demonstrated ability to multitask and process information into action in a timely manner
4. Ability to have a team drive.
5. Fluency in English Language, Hausa and any other language is spoken in Borno State
