The Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme (PYES) aims to create at least 774,000 empowerment opportunities through direct youth empowerment over two years.
The P-YES scheme covers the “Youth” defined in the Nigerian National youth policy (2009) as male and female individuals whose ages are between 18 and 40 years old.
Furthermore, providing solutions to the challenges of youth unemployment. And this is through the execution of direct empowerment initiatives.

What is the Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme (P-YES)
This is an initiative of the federal government of Nigeria. It is aimed at curbing unemployment. And this is through the execution of direct empowerment initiatives.

Furthermore, it is driven by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President of Youth and Students Affairs (OSAPYSA). And it is located nationwide.

1. Creation and growth of wealth among the ever-increasing youth population of Nigeria.
2. Also, the reduction of unemployment among Nigerian youth. this is by creating over 774,000 empowerment opportunities.
3. Also, to integrate youth development into the mainstream of government policies, programs, and the national budget.
4. Furthermore, contributing to GDP growth. This is through the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs).
5. Also, to guarantee a sustainable income for the Nigerian youth.
6. Again, to integrate the youth into the Economic Diversification policy of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
7. Also, to help achieve the financial inclusion strategy of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
8. Additionally, to train and empower youth to can empower at least one other youth within his/her immediate • community.
9. Also, to fight the scourge of criminality and drug abuse among the youth.
10. Furthermore, to build the capacity of the youth.
11. Also, to enhance production, productivity, and value addition for new and existing urban and rural entrepreneurs. This is across the 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria.

Some Benefits of Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme
Below are some of the benefits of the Presidential Youth Empowerment scheme:
Training
The youth will undergo training in multiple vocations. Such as agriculture, information technology, and fashion.
Also, the training covers catering, technology acquisition, and many other strategic vocations
Empowerment
Successful trainees will be equipped with Seed Empowerment Tools (SET)s. Such as rice mills, poultry accessories, and branded mobile kiosks.
Also, there is a provision for farm implements. And there is I for mobile restaurants, tents, photography units, etc.
Seed Empowerment Tools (SET)
The beneficiaries will be given Seed Empowerment Tools (SET). However, they are expected to grow and further empower other members of their community.

A national skills qualification certificate.

Application Process for P-YES Recruitment 2021
Below is the application process for P-YES:
1. Visit the P-YES recruitment portal @ p-yes.gov.ng
2. Also, note that registration is free. Thus, signup for an account if you don’t have one.
3. Also, you can also connect your social handles such as Twitter or Facebook.
4. Furthermore, register your State of residence and LGA of residence.
5. However, you can hover over to your profile and update it. Also, you can update your bank account details. And you update other information as you wish.
6. Additionally, upload all necessary documents and submit your application.
Eligibility Criteria for the Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme
The scheme will be accessible to the literate. Also, it is accessible to semi-literate and non-literate populations.
The threshold for qualification is set at the basic ability and capacity to learn and be teachable. In addition to the above, note:
1. The applicant must be a Nigerian citizen.
2. Also, the applicant must between the ages of 18 and 40.
3. Additionally, the applicant must have at least one valid means of identification.

9. Additionally, the beneficiary should possess the capacity to transfer knowledge and mentor pairs within their communities.

What is the Strength of PYES? 2023/2024
The strength of the Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme is in the number of its beneficiaries. Altogether, over 500,000 youths in Nigeria have been beneficiaries of the initiative.
With the latest recruitment process still underway, they estimated the beneficiaries of the PYES initiative at over 1,000,000.
