College can be one of the best times of your life. However, paying for college isn’t easy. Alabama high school students who demonstrate financial need and plan to attend an Alabama college can apply for the CollegeCounts Scholarship.
Students must use these scholarships to pay for tuition, books, fees, supplies, and equipment
This is a requirement for the course. Students who are enrolled at least half-time and billed through the school may also use the funds for on-campus room and board expenses or off-campus housing.
Eligibility to Apply
For this scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a high school senior or first-time college freshman beginning in fall 2022
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be an Alabama resident
- Planning to enroll in an Alabama eligible educational institution in fall 2022
- Demonstrate financial need
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.75
- Have an ACT score of 26 or below
(applicants attending a two-year school will not be required to submit ACT scores)
Award Details
The awards are $4,000 for four-year college students and $2,000 for two-year college students.
The award is one-time, non-renewable, and awarded on a semester basis in the first academic year.

Closes – February 28, 2022 – 11:59 pm/CST
