American University Human Rights Essay Award is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by the American University.

The Academy annually sponsors the Human Rights Essay Award to encourage the creation of scholarly work in the area of international human rights law.
Benefits of American University Human Rights Essay Award
The Award in each case will consist of:
1. A full scholarship to the Program of Advanced Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law for either the Diploma or Certificate of Attendance options.
2. Travel expenses to and from Washington D.C.
3. Housing at the university dorms.
4. Per diem for living expenses.
5. The best articles may also be published in the American University International Law Review.

Requirements for American University Human Rights Essay Award
1. This award is open to all lawyers around the world regardless of their nationality.
2. ONLY participants with a law degree Juris Doctor, (J.D.), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) o equivalent by the submission due date are eligible to enter the competition.
3. Shall have a demonstrated experience or interest in international human rights law.
4. Have the flexibility to choose any subject related to the 2022 topic
5. Shall remember the essay must be an academic article with proper citations.
