Amsterdam Merit Scholarship 2022 Application Update

Amsterdam Merit Scholarship is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by the University of Amsterdam.

The University of Amsterdam seeks to entice the smartest students from around the world to study in its international classrooms. Amsterdam Merit Scholarship applications are accepted from deserving students (AMS).

Benefits of Amsterdam Merit Scholarship

The Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (AMS) is a scholarship covering the tuition fee and part of the living expenses (the exact amount will be announced as soon as possible) for one academic year with the possibility of extension for a second year (for two-year Master’s programs).

Requirements for Amsterdam Merit Scholarship

Candidates wishing to apply for an AMS program should:

1. Not have the nationality of one of the countries of the EU/EEA or Suisse.

2. Not be eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans.

3. Not be eligible to pay the reduced tuition fee rate for EEA students at the UvA.

4. Not receive a full coverage scholarship for the same period of study as the AMS.

5. Have submitted a complete application to one of the MSc programs (see the website of your MSc program for the application and admission procedure).

6. Have been (or will be) admitted for the first time to one of the MSc programs at the UvA.

7. Be able to comply with the conditions to obtain a Dutch visa (if applicable).

8. Have completed their previous academic program no longer than 3 years ago.
