Anthony R. Dees Educational Workshop Scholarship

Anthony R. Dees Educational Workshop Scholarship

For the past several years Georgia Archivists have offered a scholarship for attending an SGA-sponsored conference workshop.

The conference’s pre-conference workshops have been conducted alongside SGA annual meetings at several locations around Georgia.

Previous workshops covered many topics and issues that archivists and institutions must address including electronic records and exhibit collections.

The Pre-Conference Workshop and the scholarship will help improve archivist education. The scholarship was awarded at a SGA meeting on September 7, 2007 for longtime SGA member Tony Dees.

The Society of Georgia Archivists will waive the pre-conference workshop registration fee for the scholarship recipient of the 2022 Dees Scholarship.

Additionally, the scholarship winner will get a $75 credit to go toward a Society of American Archivists (SAA) class or a purchase from the SAA bookshop, as well as an annual membership to SGA (or a one-year renewal if already a member).

A certificate of achievement will also be given to the winners.
