The Auckland University of Technology is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students into their Auckland University Technology Master Research Scholarship for students. It is a fully-funded scholarship for students.

About Auckland University Technology Master Research Scholarship

The Programmes’ goal is to give graduate students who show leadership skills or have a high potential for future leadership in public or private life the option to study at any New Zealand university.’

Because the scholarships are usually considered full-time, emolument posts can only be taken with the Committee’s .

Auckland University Offers

These include everything from subject-specific clubs to sports clubs. Students have access to state-of-the-art training facilities, including sports centres and the ability to work with a personal trainer, as New Zealand’s foremost sports institution.

During their time studying, students spend some of their time in another country through an international exchange program, at one of AUT’s partner institutions.

These scholarships are available to study at the Auckland University of Technology for a Master’s research program.
The scholarship will be given to students studying literature, languages, history, art, music, and ) or Social Sciences (the scientific study of any aspect of social behaviour and/or society’s functioning).

Stipend of up to $15,000; Research expenses up to $5,000; Full fees.

Entrance Requirements for Auckland University Technology Master Research Scholarship

Master Research Scholarships are available to outstanding students at any NZ university for study towards Masters or PhD degree in a wide range of disciplines, provided the research is in the broad fields of Humanities or Social Sciences, provided the research is in the broad fields of Humanities.

Research proposals that are focused on issues and are forward looking, with an interdisciplinary aspect, may be preferred.

1. An applicant must be a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident of New Zealand.

2. Students may apply in anticipation of, or during, their postgraduate study, but note there is only one application round per year.

3. Applications are for research in the following year.

4. The scholarships are normally regarded as full-time, so positions of emolument may be undertaken only with the permission of the Committee.

5. Applicants must be of an age that they have not passed their 35th birthday by 1 October in the year of application.

6. Applicants must intend to enrol or be enrolled in a degree with a research component of 90 points or more.

The application will include:

1. Verified copies of transcripts of the applicant’s academic record (NB: Some universities provide transcripts via My Equals. These are already verified.)

2. A statement of the proposed program of research with an outline of the methods of investigation it is proposed to adopt

3. An outline of past and current leadership activities

4. A CV (no longer than three A4 sides)

5. The names of two referees.

After consideration of the submissions, the selection committee will invite shortlisted candidates to attend an interview in Wellington on 26 November 2022, the costs of which will be covered by the Scholarship Fund.

The interview will include a ten-minute presentation by the candidate. Those shortlisted for the interview will also be asked to provide a budget of proposed research expenses for the following year. Candidates will be notified of the results of their applications soon after the interviews.
