Flinders University is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students for their Bachelor of Nursing Scholarship. It is a fully-funded scholarship for all students.

About Flinders University

Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century.

Flinders is a verdant university[citation needed] and a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group and ranks in the 10-16 bracket in Australia and 36th in the world of those established less than 50 years.

The scholarship is valued at $2000 paid within two weeks of commencement of the final clinical placement.

Requirements for Bachelor of Nursing Scholarship

Applicants for the scholarship must:

1. Be enrolled or enrolling in their final clinical placement of an undergraduate nursing degree at Flinders; and

2. Be able to demonstrate financial hardship and/or anticipated financial disadvantage because of undertaking the placement; and

3. Have a GPA of 4.5 or above; and

4. Not be in receipt of a similar scholarship for the same placement.

5. The scholarship is open to all students undertaking their final placement in 2022. Applicants can apply even if the details of their final placement have not yet been confirmed (placements for some students won’t be confirmed until after the scholarship closing date).

Process for Bachelor of Nursing Scholarship

1. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit.

2. The scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the selection panel. There is no obligation to offer the scholarship in any given year, should there not be a suitable applicant.

3. Selection of the candidate(s) will be made by a panel which will include representatives from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
