It is no longer a rumour that the Federal Government of Nigeria has directed the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to recruit for Community Policing special constables nationwide in 36 states of Nigeria and FCT Abuja.
It is important that candidates satisfy every level of the Policing stages, which include registration, physical, medical, and aptitude test screening examination.
After the recruitment exercise, successful candidates will undergo screening; some of the items mentioned below will be used for the screening/verification exercise that will come up shortly after the recruitment/ and shortlist of candidates has been released.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has also agreed to the establishment of Community Policing in the country, stressing that if put in place, it will help nip in the bud, the insecurity challenges in Nigeria.
People to be Selected From Each State
According to the Federal Government at least, 50 volunteers will be recruited from each of the 774 local government areas in the country.
Remember that the Community Policing recruitment was scheduled for August last year, but did not take place due to some reasons.
Eligibility for Community Police Job Vacancies 2021
- Letter of engagement from N-Power, that is for NPower beneficiaries/volunteers.
- SSCE/GCE result/certificate with credit in 5 subjects including English Language and Mathematics at not more than 2 sittings.
- NYSC Discharge Letter or Exemption Letter.
- First School Living Certificate (FLSC).
- Certificate of Origin.
- Valid means of identity eg; National ID card or Voters Card (PVC).
- Birth certificate obtains only from the NPOPC (National Population Commission) or, a valid age declaration.

- Fill and submit your application form
The application closing date for the recruitment has not yet been fixed as the portal for registration will soon be launched.
Recruitment for community policing will soon begin as the IG has directed all commissioners of police to submit the names of members of the committee that will do the screening and recruitment.
How to Obtain Community Police Registration Form
The Community Police recruitment registration form can be filled and submitted online on the NPF portal. The official address of the Nigeria Police Force is https://www.npf.gov.ng/ or https://psc.gov.ng/.
Once the portal is open for applications, forms can then be filled and submitted online on the Nigeria Police portal.
