This service is available for all prepaid customers on Airtel, allowing them to call select phone numbers they have added to their FAF list at supercool rates.
Adding numbers to your family and friend’s list on is completely free for the first time. You won’t pay anything for adding the allowed 5 FAF numbers.
However, if you decide to delete or change any of the numbers after adding them to your list, then you’ll have to pay a fee of 50 naira only.

About Airtel Family and Friends Package
The Airtel Family and Friends plan is a service available to Airtel prepaid users. It allows them to call four (4) special persons for less on the Airtel network.
Airtel Family and Friends plan allows you to call four (4) Airtel numbers for as low as 25 kobo per second (₦15 per minute) during the peak period (6 a.m. to 10 p.m.).
However, it costs 21 kobo per second (₦12.6 per minute) during the off-peak period (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.).
These four special persons must also be users on the Airtel network. The Airtel Family and Friends only apply to prepaid users on the Airtel Smart Connect Plan.
The good news is that the Airtel Smart Connect Plan is the default plan that comes with every newly purchased Airtel SIM card. It gives customers an 800% bonus on any recharge made on the line.

How Do Family and Friends Work on Airtel?
Having used this service for some years and being in technology, I have come to the full understanding that out of the number numbers of family and friends (FAF) you wish to add to your list.
Airtel will just allow you to add 5 people for free and the rest of the people want to add will cost N50 per number added.
I may advise you to only add to your FAFS list the numbers you usually call. You can add your spouse, customers, or family relation numbers. this is only if you call these persons more often.
Airtel Family and Friends Activation Code
There is no activation code for Airtel family and friends. To enjoy the Airtel family and friends plan, this is how to add family and friends on Airtel; that can be done by using this registration code:
*311*2*NUMBER#
For example, if you want to add this number ‘08020895437’ to the Airtel family and friend plan. Then you will have to dial *311*08020895437#.
This will allow you to benefit immensely from a cheaper call rate when calling that number. After dialing the ‘activation code’, a pop-up message will be displayed on your phone to inform you that the process has been successful.
The limit for adding numbers into the Airtel Nigeria family and friends plan is five phone numbers.
How to View Airtel Family and Friends Numbers
Note that these USSD codes (*141*2*Number#; *141*3*Number#; *141*5#) are now obsolete and do not work anymore for adding, removing, and checking the list of FAF, respectively.
Airtel Family and Friends Call Rates
The tariffs for the FAF service are uniform across all tariff plans:
1. Peak Periods (6 am–9:59 pm): 25 Kobo per second.
2. Off-Peak Periods (10 pm–5:59 pm): 21 Kobo per second
3. When using Smart connect bonus: 40 kobo per second, irrespective of the time of the day you make the call.
