– Creative Conservatorium Relocation Scholarship –

Friends of the Conservatorium is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students into their Creative Conservatorium Music Relocation Scholarship for students. It is a partially funded scholarship for all students.

About Creative Conservatorium Relocation Scholarship

In the 1990s, a group known as the Friends of the Conservatorium established a fund to aid in pursuing musical studies. Their goal was to help young musicians with education expenses. This organization held several activities, including a bike race.

Unfortunately, their names are unknown now, but we respect their musical vision and enthusiasm. The Creative Conservatorium Fund is the new name for this fund. The scholarships listed below help students who are geographically disadvantaged with the costs of relocating to Newcastle to study music.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a music student beginning in the first year of a Bachelor of Music and Performing Arts at University of Newcastle.
  2. Be enrolled full time.

  3. Be relocating to Newcastle from a regional or remote area in Australia.

  4. Be an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent Resident (includes New Zealand Permanent Residents).

  5. Not have previously completed an Australian undergraduate degree program.

Required Documentation

Your application will not be processed unless you provide . Prior to completing the online application , please have all required documents ready to upload as PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, or JPG files.

A personal essay (about one A4 page) explaining your academic achievements, professional goals in the relevant field of study, and how this scholarship might help you.

You may be asked to present documentation to back up your claims of educational disadvantage. These will be identified based on your specific application responses when you apply.

Benefit

The scholarship benefits $4,000 paid after semester one census.

Selection

The scholarship application will be evaluated against the eligibility criteria as part of a competitive procedure. Academic merit, particularly the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank, and the student’s postcode of home address in the year preceding admission to B Music may be considered (ATAR).

The panel may also consider the online audition video uploaded to http://www.newcastle.edu.au/degrees/bachelor-of-music/admissions on the application for entry to the Bachelor of Music (incl combined) programs at the University of Newcastle.
