Dextral fault of Outcrop (Granite) In Nigeria

The outcrop is located at mantel village along Keffi– Akwanga road about 20km away from Keffi. The outcrop is an outcrop of older granite. The common featured of older granite is that they are foliated with respect to composition and the colour varies. Others are paleozone, and the orientation of the palezone shows evidence of tectonism. Augen eye–Augite which is produce due to

recrystallization of granite rock.

        The lithology is mafic and felfic minerals like biotite, feldspar and quartz.

        Dextrital fault is seen here, cross cuts the quartz veins and it shows the retiles are older than quartz vein.

Thickness of veins

10 – 14cm and 1 – 2.5cm

N47o – N226, N16 – N195

Dip amount 41o

Dip direction 295 NW
