Endowment for South Asian Students of Indian Descent Scholarship Fund

The Endowment for South Asian Students of Indian Descent (ESASID) scholarship was established in 2002 by Drs. Jitendra M. and Saryu J. Desai.

A South Asian student of Indian heritage enrolling full-time in his/her second, third, or fourth year at an accredited Pennsylvania medical school will be eligible for a scholarship beginning in 2003.

Candidates must be Pennsylvania or New Jersey residents.

Dr. Jitendra Desai stated, “It is our desire to assist other medical students of Indian heritage realize their ambitions of becoming physicians.”

My wife and I are starting this fund in the hopes that others would wish to donate to it so students can learn about the benefits of becoming a doctor.

Each year, a South Asian student of Indian heritage enrolling full-time in his or her second, third, or fourth year at a Pennsylvania medical school is eligible to apply for this grant.
