The Fresno State University is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students into their Fresno State Scholarships for students. This scholarship aims at providing financial support for students. It is a fully-funded scholarship for all students.

You have made it to the Fresno State Scholarships! The opportunities listed below are Fresno State scholarships that are offered by various departments, schools, colleges, and programs.

The majority are for the upcoming 2023/2024 academic year. In order to be considered for a Fresno State scholarship, students must be continuing student or new student who has applied for admission.

More than half of the scholarship opportunities listed in the directory only require a general scholarship application to be submitted.

However, some apply-to scholarships require applicants to submit additional information about themselves in order to qualify for an opportunity.

1. CSU William and Janet Lahey Art Education and Visual Arts Scholarship

The William & Janet Lahey Art Education and Visual Arts Scholarship will have one scholarship of $10,000 available for the 2022-2022 academic year for students in a post-baccalaureate program leading to a high school single subject teaching credential in the arts.

The annual scholarship will be sufficient to cover tuition & fees and provide an additional small stipend.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must;

1. Be enrolled at a California State University campus at least half-time;

2. Possess a bachelor’s degree in art or in one of the visual art specializations;

3. Be enrolled in one of the following programs:
➢ A post-baccalaureate program leading to a high school single subject teaching credential in the arts;
➢ A Master of Fine Arts program in art or one of the visual arts specialization; or
➢ A Master of Arts program in art or one of the visual arts specializations.

4. Be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

5. Priority consideration will be given to scholarship applications in the following order:
➢ First priority will be given to students enrolled in a program leading to a single subject teaching credential in the arts;
➢ The second priority will be given to students enrolled in a graduate program in the art of one of the visual arts specializations;
➢ The third priority will be given to eligible students who have a record of volunteer activities in the arts.

2. CSU Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students

The Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students was established in 1991 by Mr. Schoettler, who was a successful businessman from Mountain View, California and blind the last eight years of his life.

Thirty-seven (39) scholarships of $10,000 each will be awarded for the 2022-2022 academic year.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirement

Applicants must;

➢ Currently have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale and must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale during the academic year in which the award is received.

➢ Be currently enrolled in 6.1 units or more as a CSU undergraduate or graduate student in any major field and must remain enrolled in 6.1 units or more during the academic year in which the award is received.

➢ Have a visual disability and provide verification from a medical health professional, which includes the best-corrected visual acuity notations.

(Please note that the disability must be such that it impedes the educational process and necessitates accommodations, support services, or programs.)

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will review applications to ensure that they meet all stated requirements.

Each campus may nominate as many candidates as they would like for consideration for the scholarships.

Students who have previously been nominated and/or awarded the Schoettler scholarship may continue to apply each year they meet the qualifications.

3. CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement

The awards recognize students who have overcome adversity, demonstrated financial need, and have attributes of merit including superior academic performance, significant personal achievements, and exemplary community service.

The recipient who receives the highest score by the CSU Foundation scholarship selection committee is designated the Trustee Emeritus Ali C. Razi Scholar and will receive a $15,000 scholarship.

Also distributed will be the Reed Scholarship ($10,000), the Hampton Scholarship ($9,000), and the Galinson Scholarship ($8,000).

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Scholarships will be awarded up to the number of funding available. At minimum Twenty-three (23) scholarships will be awarded. Most scholarships will be $6,000. Applicants must:

➢ Demonstrate superior academic performance with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and be in good academic standing.

➢ Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.

➢ Be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in any major field at Fresno State and remain a full-time student at Fresno State during the 2023/2024 academic year.

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, applicants must also submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the California Dream Application, and have a calculated financial need analysis done by Fresno State prior to the scholarship deadline.

When the Financial Aid Office receives and processes your FAFSA, or California Dream Application, a financial need calculation will automatically be uploaded to your scholarship application.
