Gani Fawehinmi Foundation is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students into their Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship for students. It is a fully-funded scholarship for all students.
About Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship
The Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship is a prestigious annual scholarship program named after Chief Abdul-Ganiyu “Gani” Oyesola Fawehinmi. It is one of the Board’s ongoing scholarships for Nigerian undergraduate students.
Gani Fawehinmi was a well-known Nigerian novelist, philanthropist, social critic, seasoned human and civil rights lawyer, politician, and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The award is for 20 (twenty) students, each of whom will receive One hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) making a total sum of Two Million Naira (N2,000,000.00).
Criteria for Award
(1) Applicants must be poor and indigent.
(2) Applicants must be registered students of a tertiary institution in Nigeria i.e a University, polytechnic and any college of education.
(3) Applicants must have good academic performance
Mode of Application
(A) Each applicant shall submit an application letter, not more than two (2) pages. The letter must include the name of the candidate, course and year of study, state of , and why the candidate believes that he or she should be given the award.
(B) The application letter must be accompanied by:
(i)A photocopy of the candidate’s current identity card
(ii) A letter from the candidate’s current head of department, including correct information on the candidate’s CGPA for the last academic session.
(iii) A letter from the registrar certifying that the candidate is a student of the institution.
(iv) A copy of the candidate’s registration form for the current semester, and
(v) Two current passport photographs
