Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by the Monash University.
About the Scholarship
The diverse multinational community at Monash University is a source of great pride. They are one of Australia’s biggest institutions, with 12 campuses and teaching locations spread over 4 continents. You may anticipate a completely global experience as an international student.
The GEMS program intends to send the top PhD candidates to Monash University Malaysia so they can collaborate with world-class research teams on some of the most pressing issues facing humanity.
From 2022 to 2024, the GEMS initiative will award 15 scholarships each year, with beneficiaries receiving funding for 39 months. The program will include a paid placement in Australia for up to 12 months because each PhD student will be guided by a team of staff in Malaysia and Australia.
Benefits of Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship
1. 100% tuition fee waiver for three years and three months under the Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship (GEMS).
2. A monthly stipend of RM 2,800 for 27 months in Malaysia.
3. An annual stipend of AUD 37,000 up to 12 months in Australia.
4. A grant to cover travel and initial cost-of-living expenses in Australia.

1. To be eligible for GEMS, you must possess a minimum academic qualification of First Class Honours (H1) or its equivalence (H1E) recognised by Monash Malaysia.
2. You must satisfy particular academic and English language requirements.

1. Academic transcripts (Certified true copies with grading scales).
2. Curriculum vitae.
3. Personal statement on why you think are suited for the GEMS program (300 words).
4. Research proposals for up to 2 preferred research topics.
5. Proof of English proficiency.
