Requirements

These are the requirements.

1. A fully completed visa application form;

2. A passport valid for at least three months after leaving Switzerland;

3. A photocopy of the identification page of passport;

4. A copy of all valid Schengen, UK, US, and Canadian Visas if applicable, including official refusals;

5. Two recent full-face photographs for each applicant, not more than 3 months old with white background;

6. Visa fee;

7. An original letter of invitation from Switzerland which will contain a name, first name, date of birth, purpose, and duration of the visit.

Please show if the stay and cost are guaranteed. The signed invitation should be sent by e-mail to the embassy before the appointment date.

Additional Information

8. For self-employed: Introduction letter, business incorporation certificate, and memorandum, original (to be returned), and photocopies.

Company bank statement and personal bank statement going back as far as three months;

9. For employees: introduction letter from the employer with a sign of the start date of employment, the annual salary, the granted leave period, and resumption date with salary slips three months back.

Personal bank statement three months back, reflecting salary slips stamped and signed by the bank;

10. Hotel reservation;

11. Appropriate flight reservation / booking (including return flight);

12. Proof of international travel insurance throughout the trip (Schengen area, coverage Euro 30’000).

13. Please book an appointment before applying with this Embassy;

14. All documents have to be presented, both original and photocopies, with a signed visa application by the applicant;

15. Personal appearance when applying for a Schengen visa is mandatory to capture the bio-metric data (finger scans and facial image).

If your finger scans were collected within the last 59 months and a visa with the mention “VIS” has been granted, then you won’t have to give new fingerprints for your next visa application(s) and personal appearance is unnecessary.
