Cardiff University is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students for their Jameel Scholarships. It is a Partially funded scholarship for all students.

Scholarship Description

Jameel Scholarships, UK 2022 is open for International Students, Domestic Students. The scholarship allows Ph.D., Masters level program(s) in the field of Religious and Theological Studies, Islam in Britain taught at Cardiff University.

Founded in 2005, the Islam-UK Centre works towards the promotion of a better understanding of Islam and the life of Muslims in Britain, through high-quality teaching and research.

Its activities address issues that are central to the situation of Muslims in contemporary Britain.

The Centre provides unique training and research opportunities for those seeking onward employment in a range of academic and non-academic careers.

With the help of a very generous gift, the Jameel Scholarships have enabled the very best students to come to Cardiff University–those who have the intellect and determination to apply their knowledge for the benefit of Muslim communities in the UK, and to promote a better understanding of Islam in wider society.

Degree Level

Jameel Scholarships are available to undertake Ph.D., Masters’s level programs at Cardiff University.

Scholarship Benefits

These scholarships are available for study in the Islam in Contemporary Britain (MA) program and comprise full UK tuition fees, a £15,896 annual stipend, and £1,000 towards your research costs.

The three-year Ph.D. scholarship comprises full UK tuition fees for the Religious & Theological Studies program, a £15,896 annual stipend, and £2,500 per year for your research costs.

Eligibility Criteria

MA Scholarships

Four MA scholarships are available for the academic year beginning 2023/2024.

These scholarships are available for studying in the Islam in Contemporary Britain (MA) program. From 2022 to 2022, the scholarship is now available for Part-Time students.

For those the Part-Time program, they will divide the stipend and research allowance over two years.

Ph.D. Scholarship

The University is seeking exceptional UK resident applicants with a First Class or high Upper Second-Class Honours Degree or master’s degree.

Research proposals are invited on topics that clearly align with the research interests and expertise of the staff at the Islam-UK Centre. Proposals must show exceptional academic , potential, and relevance to Muslims in the UK.

Submit an online application directly to the university, either for a Religious and Theological Studies (Ph.D.) or Islam in Contemporary Britain (MA) before 13 June 2022.

If you wish to also apply for the scholarship, complete the relevant Jameel Scholarship Application Form below before 13 June 2022.

Please note, that both a direct application to the university and a Jameel Scholarship Application will be necessary in order to qualify for the scholarships.

Deadline
