CHAD was established in 2002 by a group of women from different religious and ethnic backgrounds in Gombe state, North East Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1. Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Borno

Job Type: Contract

Job Duration: 9 Months

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Approves payments, purchase authorizations and other financial transactions to ensure compliance with staff rules, financial rules and implementing instruments/authority.

2. Supervises the preparation of the end of month accounts before forwarding them to Headquarters;

3. In close coordination with Field/Sub Offices/Programme Section, maintains a system to monitor and forecast cash requirements to meet administrative and project expenditures.

4. Establishes monthly cash requirements for the office and requests timely replenishments from Headquarters.

5. Constantly reviews banking arrangements to ensure timely transfer of funds and minimize exchange loses and bank charges;

6. Advises the head of the office on all budgetary and financial matters;

7. Briefs new staff members or staff assigned to the Field on finance matters;

8. In close coordination with Field Offices, coordinate replies to finance-related audit comments

9. Undertakes other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

1. Ability to manage/administer a finance unit, ability to rationalise work, delegate tasks, apply advanced systems to simplify work and negotiate systems improvements, and propose solutions to make the best use of staff and financial resources

2. Ability to prepare and administer budgets, and manage the finance sector

3. Analytical/Communication/interpersonal skills

Negotiating:

1. Ability to work under highly stressful conditions

3. Writing/drafting skills

4. Ability to train and educate other people

Academic Qualifications

Advanced University degree

2. Job Title: Case Management Supervisor

Location: Borno

Job Type: Contract

Job Duration: 9 months

Closing Date: 18th July 2019

Key Responsibilities

Some key responsibilities:

1. Contribute to establishing a case management system

2. Manage a team of 12 Child Protection Case Workers;

3. Supporting the Case Workers to identify children who should be provided with case management services according to an agreed criterion;

4. Supporting the Case Workers to develop appropriate and realistic case plans for children with different needs and providing approval for case plans;

5. Supporting the Case Workers to provide case management services to children;

6. Supporting the Case Workers to provide referrals and follow-up for children with external service providers, sharing case information;

7. Entering case management data into the Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS);

8. Signing off on the closure of case plans;

9. Ensuring appropriate child safeguarding and accountability mechanisms are in place and working effectively;

10. Pre-identify alternative care arrangements for unaccompanied and separated children;

11. Conduct daily field visits to beneficiaries in camps, Informal Settlements and households in Ngala, Bama, Banki, Dikwa, Damboa and Mafa.

12. Support team-building and professional development of staff, including through regular performance appraisals;

13. Support the development of referral pathways for children requiring external services.

14. Maintain and develop cooperative working relationships with relevant service providers (national and international), community centres and organisations, governmental institutions, etc.;

15. Contribute to writing evaluative and periodic progress reports on the case management component of the project;

16. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience

1. Degree in Social Work, Psychology or another related field (preferably Master’s Degree);

2. 2 years’ relevant experience in Child Protection in emergencies;

3. At least 1-year specific social work or case management work experience with children;

4. Previous experience in a similar position with international or national organisations or government authorities;

5. Knowledge of Child Protection standards and procedures;

6. Demonstrated ability to manage a team and work under pressure;

7. Demonstrated respect for work and humanitarian ethics;

8. Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently;

9. Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills;

10. Good Computer literacy, primarily Excel and Word;

11. Fluent in written and spoken Arabic and English;

1. Team player

2. Friendly and good sense of humour

3. Ability to work with minimal supervision

4. Able to work in a small, dynamic organisation with limited resources

5. Creative and innovative
