About The NOUN Recruitment Exercise

  1. NOUN will not act in a lenient manner, concerning any petition for an upgrade of salary, or adjustment in rank, once a candidate has been appointed, and the acceptance letter of the candidate has been submitted.
  2. In compliance with Federal Character Commission Regulations (FCCR), the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), will consider shortlisting and employing applicants from the Six Geopolitical Zones in the Country (Nigeria) and reserves the right to ensure this balance in its transparent shortlisting exercise of potential employees.
  3. Furthermore, all applicants are expected to be experts at basic computer programs and packages and must be comprehensively conversant with the internet and online technologies. Applicants should also be ready to adapt at all times and must be open to learning new things, particularly as it concerns open and distant learning.
  4. The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), will not appoint, and at the same time promote candidates. NOUN will place candidates at a salary scale appropriate to their qualifications, broad knowledge, and working experience.
  5. All appointed candidates are required to be physically and actively residents in their respective departments, irrespective of their location. Be it in Lagos, Abuja, or Kaduna.
  6. It should be noted that the National Open University of Nigeria, does not, and will not make provisions for staff housing.
  7. Candidates who have gotten to the age of retirement, or were previously retired from other services are not permitted to apply for this recruitment exercise.

NOUN Recruitment Requirements

  1. All candidates must also be registered members of relevant professional bodies.
  2. Candidates must be free of criminal backgrounds.
  3. All applicants must be sound mentally, physically, and health-wise.
  4. Possession of B.Sc, HNDNCE, OND in relation to the applied position from a recognized institution.
  5. Any added certificate either postgraduate or professional certification will be of advantage.
  6. NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.
  7. West African School Certificate (WAEC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects.
  8. Candidates must have National Examination Council (NECO)/General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings including the English Language.)
  9. National Diploma (ND) obtained from a recognized institution. National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution.
  10. Must be computer literate.
