John Anderson Scholarship 2022 Application Update

John Anderson Scholarship is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by the Victoria University of Wellington.

About the Scholarship

Students who are majoring in a degree program provided by the School of Accounting and Commercial Law and are beginning their first year of study are eligible for this scholarship.

The scholarship is meant to help up-and-coming business professionals who are devoted to completing their undergraduate degrees at Victoria University of Wellington.

Requirements for John Anderson Scholarship

1. Applicants must be intending to enrol full time in an undergraduate degree majoring in a discipline within the School of Accounting and Commercial Law at Victoria University of Wellington.

2. Applicants intending to enrol into a joint degree with a non-commerce subject are also eligible to apply.

Documents Required for Application

1. A personal statement outlining how they meet the criteria for this scholarship.

2. A CV of the applicant’s prior education, employment and interests.

3. A reference from their school’s head of commerce or another suitable teacher (to be requested via the online application).

4. Must complete the financial information section of the scholarship application form.

Selection Process

1. Applicants must by New Zealand citizens, Permanent Residents or hold a residence class visa to remain in New Zealand.

2. Applicants must face financial hardship that may restrict their ability to enter tertiary education.

3. Applicants must have achieved an NCEA Level 2 Certificate endorsed with Merit (or the equivalent in another qualification).

Applicants will also be assessed on the following criteria:

1. Leadership qualities.

2. Involvement in community, sporting and cultural activities.

3. Willingness to give back to the community.
