You should be so much interested in this scholarship, but what do you understand about scholarships?

About the McMaster University

McMaster was founded in the year 1887 in Toronto through a bequest from the estate of Senator William McMaster, a member of the first Senate after Confederation and also the  president of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.

It moved to its present location in the year 1930 and became a private non-denominational institution in the year 1957

The McMaster University Medical Centre considered being one of the largest buildings in Canada main campus sits on 300 acres of land in a West dale residential neighborhood.

It has about fifty structures. McMaster also offers houses to its students. Currently, it has twelve smoke-free buildings that can accommodate around 3,800 students.

Apart from providing accommodation, each residence hall offers support to new students in their transition to university life through its community advisers.

McMaster’s main campus is located in the West dale neighborhood of Hamilton, Ontario.

African students are now eligible to receive McMaster University Scholarships! The university was founded in the year 1887 and now is one of the best Canadian Universities.

Originally, the name was Toronto Baptist Institution and focused mainly on educating Baptist ministers. The name changed to McMaster University when William McMaster, a Senator and the first President of a Canadian bank, who donated huge funds for this university.

McMaster University had a drastic change because the university was beginning to get crowded. In the year 1927, they made a significant decision to move the university from Toronto to Hamilton.

The funds came from the generous supporters such as friends and alumni, and extra funds came by selling the old property the University of Toronto. In the year 1930, they finally finished moving to a new location in Hamilton.

Before World War II, the courses that they offered were restricted to humanities, arts, theology, and nursing. However, after the War, they realized the significance of science.

In the 1950s, they received funding from both individuals and the government to expand their science programs.

With this additional funding, they have expanded their programs into a medical school and hospital to train more doctors.

Other departments such as business and engineering department were added later. The additional funding made available funds for McMaster University Scholarships as well.

Today, there is a total of 26,000 undergraduates and graduate students taught by qualified professors. McMaster University has a large endowment as well to support these students with over $700 million Canadian Dollars.

These funds support different academic programs and various McMaster University Scholarships for students.

McMaster University Scholarships (Undergraduate)

The entrance scholarships and external scholarships are only scholarships that are available for African students.

The entrance scholarships are awarded based on the admission percentile of the candidates. For the first 5% of all applicants, $2,500 scholarships are available.

SCHULICH Leader Scholarships

This scholarship was launched in the year 2012. The Schulich Leader Scholarships provide $100 million in funding through 50 undergraduate scholarships every year, across top Canadian universities.

These awards help the most talented students pursue their dreams and become the next global pioneers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
