Medha Shankar was born on 1 August in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Leo.
She did her schooling from Vishwa Bharti Public School, Noida. She spent her childhood watching her mother, Rachna, choreographing dances and directing plays for small children in their apartment complex. She is a trained Hindustani classical singer and used to play the Sitar, Harmonium, and Keyboard during her school days. She learned music till Class 10. Growing up, Medha would actively participate in singing and dancing competitions. She pursued a masters degree in Fashion Management from National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi. During her graduation, she auditioned for a short film. Even though the film was never released, the experience sparked her aspirations to become an actor. In 2018, she moved to Mumbai to try her hand at acting.

Medha Shankar started her career as a model and was featured in television commercials and print advertisements for various well-known brands like Coca Cola, Paytm, and Big Bazaar.
In 2015, she starred in a short film titled With You for You Always in which she played the role of Maya.

In 2019, she made her digital debut with BBC’s British historical drama Beecham House. In the series, she played the role of a a Mughal princess named Roshanara, the daughter of Murad Beg, who is taught Western values by an English governess named Margaret Osborne.
In 2021, she played the role of Eshwari Thakur in the romantic comedy show Dil Bekaraar on Disney+ Hotstar.

In 2021, she made her film debut with the Hindi musical drama film Shaadisthan, featuring Kirti Kulhari, in which she played the role of Arshi, a 17-year-old to be married off against her wishes. The film streamed on Disney+Hotstar.
In 2022, he played the role of Min in the film Max, Min and Meowzaki. In 2023, he appeared in the drama film 12th Fail in which he played the role of Shraddha Joshi.
