Introduction
NHIS simply means the Nation Health Insurance Scheme. The idea of creating a governmental body to address health care concerns in Nigeria had its origins in 1962.
However, the idea was shot down at the time by government officials.
Later, Alhaji Abdusalami Abubaker enacted NHIS into military law on the 10th of May, 1999. But the Nigerian public had to wait 40 more years for the to become official.
In 2006, President Olusegun Obasanjo became the first registered NHIS member when he formally launched the agency. This was when the agency was formally launched in 2006.
NHIS Jobs 2021 Description
NHIS is to provide social health insurance in Nigeria. And this is to be done where health care services are needed.
Employees and contributors are paid from the common pool of funds contributed by the participants of the Scheme.
Also, it has a pre-payment plan where participants pay a fixed regular amount. And the amount/funds are pooled.
Thus, allowing the Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) to pay for those needing medical attention.
Also, it is primarily a risk-sharing arrangement that can improve resource mobilization and equity. And it is indeed regarded as the most widely used form of health care financing worldwide.
NHIS Jobs 2021 Eligibility
The Requirements for obtaining the 2021 NHIS Recruitment form are listed below.
As such, if you wish to get the form, you must strictly adhere to the requirements below.
- Applicant must be a Nigerian Citizen by birth or descent.
- Also, the applicant must have a valid means of identification.
- Thus, the applicant must have a voter’s card, driving license, or national immigration passport.
- Also, you need to have a Bachelors’ Degree or Master’s Degree in any relevant field.
- Possession of B.Sc, , , OND in relation to the applied position from a recognized institution.
- Any added certificate either postgraduate or professional certification will be of advantage.
- NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.
- Applicants must not be above 35 years old.
- West African School Certificate (WAEC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects; or
- Candidates must have National Examination Council (NECO)/General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings including the English Language.)
- (ND) obtained from a recognized institution. National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution; or General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) in two (2) subjects obtained at one sitting or three (3) subjects obtained at two sittings.
- Must be computer literate.
- Additionally, the applicant must not be suffering from any form of mental or physical Stress.
- Also, the applicant must not have any sight problems.
- Additionally, the applicant must not have any hearing difficulties.
- Also, the applicant must have any fracture, stammering, or any other natural disability.
