The Nigerian Navy is part of the largest Armed Forces in Africa, the Nigerian Armed Forces. And apart from being part of the largest armed force, it is among the largest navies in the continent of Africa.

The official Nigerian Navy Short Service application portal is where any person can complete all applications. Today, we will show you how to apply for the Nigerian navy short service through the official application portal.

Every year the portal opened for qualified civilians or military personnel who will take part in the annual Direct Short Service Commissions (DSSC) training.

About the Nigeria Navy

The Nigeria Navy is a division of the Nigerian Armed Forces. This force is part of the biggest forces in the African Continent which comprises thousands of personnel plus those of the coast guard.

They formed the Nigerian Navy from the Nigerian marine after the amalgamation of the southern and northern protectorate in 1914.

As a result, Queen Elizabeth II allows the force to be called ” The Royal Nigerian Navy”. The name was finally changed to “The Nigerian Navy” which it called today after Nigeria becomes a republic state in 1963.

Nigerian Navy Recruitment Requirements 

Here are the requirements listed on the Nigerian Navy recruitment portal:

1. All applicants should be between 18–22 or 18 and 26 Years for those with ND, NCE, Nurses, and Motor Transport Department (MTD) respectively

2. This position is open for applicants who are O Level or OND holders.

3. Your first school leaving certificate is required.

4. You must be physically and mentally sound.

5. You should be a Nigerian citizen

6. For all Male applicants, you must not be shorter than 1.68 meters while the female applicants must not stand at a height below 1.65 meters.

7. You should be single.

8. If you have gone for orthopaedic surgery please don’t apply.

9. If you have been convicted in a court of law please don’t apply.

10. Ladies who are pregnant please don’t apply.

11. All certificates presented must be in their original form.

Before you apply, you must meet all the above requirements, after which, follow the guide below to complete your application into the NigerianNavy via Direct Short Service Commissions (DSSC):

1. You need to visit the official website of the Nigerian Navy at www.joinnigeriannavy.com

2. Next, click on the “register” link.

3. After which, they will present you with all the requirements, you can read, scroll down, and click on register.

4. Input your valid email, then create your password and click on register.

5. You must complete all the forms you’re provided with in the Nigeria Navy Portal

6. You can submit your application and then print out all the documents you’re provided with.
