History of the Nigerian Army
The Nigerian Army originated from the Royal West African Frontier Force (RWAFF) which was formed in 1900.

Requirements for Nigerian Army DSSC 2022 Entry Requirements
1. Only Nigerian graduates should apply
2. You should be between the age of 22 to 35 while medical consultants should not be over 40.
3. Also, you must be fit and sound all around.
4. You should have 2 recognizable referees who must recommend you.
5. Measure at least 1.68m (for males) and 1.65m (for females) in height.
6. Get a state of origin certificate.
7. Possess a valid birth certificate.
8. You must get your NYSC discharge certificates.
9. Females should apply for specialist corps, e.g. Medical, Legal Service, or Army Public Relations.
10. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a National Identity Card.
11. Possess a minimum of 4 credits in not over 2 sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB.
12. In addition to the above qualification, those applying for Tradesmen/women must also possess OND/Trades Test/City and Guild Certificate.
13. Be between the ages of 18 – 22 years for non-tradesmen/women while tradesmen/women must be between the ages of 18 – 26 years by 21 December 2021.
14. Knowledge of additional Nigerian language other than mothers tongue is an added advantage.
