Owatonna Foundation Scholarships

The Owatonna Foundation offers scholarships to students who wish to continue their studies and to returning adults seeking a new profession.

Improving our educational foundation contributes to a better tomorrow.

The Owatonna Foundation gave its first traditional and nontraditional scholarships in 1995 and 1997, respectively.

Since the first scholarship was awarded, more than 480 individuals have received funding to further their study in a technical field.

Scholarships totaling over $685k have been awarded.

Scholarships of up to $3,000 may be utilized to prepare for technical careers that do not require a bachelor’s degree.

Typically, recipients attend a technical or community college as they pursue technical career ambitions.

Owatonna Foundation Traditional Scholarship Criteria

  • Scholarship awards up to  $500 and $3,000
  • Prepare for a technical career that doesn’t require a four-year degree (typically recipients attend a technical or community college as they work towards their technical career goals)
  • Graduating with the current high school class of Owatonna High School, Owatonna Area Learning Center, Eagle Academy, Owatonna Christian School, Choice Technical Academy, or Pillsbury College Prep
  • Parent or guardian of applicant a resident of Steele County

Owatonna Foundation Non -Traditional Scholarship Criteria

  • Scholarship awards range up to $3,000
     
  • Prepare for a technical career that doesn’t require a four-year degree (typically recipients attend a technical or community college as they work towards their technical career goals)
     
  • An Owatonna mailing address or have worked at an Owatonna business for at least the past two years
  • High school graduate or possess a GED
     
  • Graduated prior to the current high school class

Scholarship Deadlines:

  • October 25 for a spring semester award
  • June 25 for a fall semester award

  • Scholarship award $3,000
  • Pursue a career-specific field of study
  • Applicant must be a woman and have an Owatonna mailing address or have worked at an Owatonna business for at least the past two years

Scholarship Deadlines:

  •  October 25 for a spring semester award
  • June 25 for a fall semester award
