Oxford Brookes University is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students for their Oxford Brookes Sanctuary Scholarship. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students.

About Oxford Brookes University

Oxford Brookes University is a public university in Oxford, England. It can trace its origins to 1865 when the former Oxford School of Art was established. They renamed the university in 1992 to honour its former principal, John Henry Brookes.

The university’s School of Architecture is one of the largest in Britain. In 2016, they ranked it 359th in the world according to the QS World University Rankings and is in the 401-500 bracket according to Times Higher Education’s 2016-2017 list of the top 1000 universities globally.

Aim of Oxford Brookes Sanctuary Scholarship

In 2023/2024 entry, there will be two scholarships available, which will include:

1. A full fee waiver (you do not need to pay fees).

2. A cash bursary of £4,000.

3. Financial support is equivalent to £8,000 towards accommodation. Those living in halls of residence will automatically receive this support; those in private accommodation will be required to provide proof of living costs as detailed in the terms and conditions of the scholarship.

4. Guaranteed accommodation in University halls of residence for 52 weeks per year.

Requirements for Scholarship 

Students with the following immigration statuses who meet the relevant course entry requirements and are not in receipt of, or eligible for government student financial support, are eligible to apply:

1. Asylum seeker

2. Unaccompanied asylum-seeking child

3. Limited leave to remain (because of an asylum application

4. Discretionary leave to remain (because of an asylum application)

5. The family member of someone with one of the immigration statuses listed above with ‘in line’ or ‘dependent’ status.

6. The scholarship will be open to students who are in receipt of an offer (or awaiting a decision) for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught course, including foundation year courses. Courses taught at Partner Colleges are not eligible.
