PIND Foundation Portal 2020: PIND Foundation is a Nigerian non-profit Foundation that was established in the year 2010 with initial funding by Chevron Corporation.

PIND Foundation is headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria, and also has offices in Warri, Delta State, and Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

It was founded to support a portfolio of socio-economic development programs for Nigeria’s Niger Delta to improve standards of living of communities in the region.

Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) support projects in collaboration with a various range of donor partners including bilateral as well as multilateral aid agencies, federal and state government agencies in Nigeria, private establishments, and foundations.

Intending to increase income and employment in the region, the Foundation has four distinct but interrelated program areas. They include:

About Grants

The grants are aimed at sharing successful development models as well as approaches, lessons from the experiences of PIND and partners in the region, highlighting key figures or innovations promoting pro-poor development in the region, and promoting advocacy and awareness on key issues limiting economic development and peacebuilding in the region.

Grants only apply to concepts around the Niger Delta and the following thematic areas.

  • Gender and economic development.
  • Agricultural sectors (palm oil, cassava, aquaculture, cocoa, poultry) and Small/Medium Enterprises development and promoting Appropriate Technology in the region.
  • Peacebuilding and conflict resolution as key elements for the Niger Delta development.
  • Capacity building for diversifying resources for socio-economic development.

Job Details

The PIND Foundation is a foundation established by Chevron Corporation to provide support for socio-economic development programs in the Niger Delta.

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Description

  1. The position holder will improve the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth.
  2. Applicant must be able to define long-term organizational business goals, build key relationships, identify and develop business opportunities, negotiates and closes funding/grant opportunities.
  3. He/she will be profit-oriented and will possess extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

Responsibilities

Qualified candidate must:

  1. Be able to identify and also develop new business opportunities focusing on income generation from economic development services.
  2. Research and approach private foundations and trusts, development organizations, multinationals, government agencies and other bodies to explore funding/grant opportunities
  3. Assist program managers to develop business relationships with potential funding agencies, corporate partners, community organizations and other relevant stakeholders with a focus on organizational sustainability.
  4. Control the key assets and core capabilities of the Economic Development Centers in marketing and fundraising for the foundation.
  5. Set up knowledge of the development market place and competition, in identifying and also developing the foundation’s unique selling points.
  6. Develop and implement marketing strategies, roadshows, and other options that project compelling business value for identified services to potential clients.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum experience of 10 years
  2. Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or any relevant field of study.

  1. Ability to market and sell the services of a non-profit organization.
  2. Strong entrepreneurial skills.
  3. Sound understanding of business development, including sales, marketing, and project management principles.
  4. Excellent planning and organizing skills.

  9. Excellent relationship management skills with client focus.
