QUEBEC SCHOLARSHIP FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING IN CANADA 2022

Applications are now open for the Quebec vocational training scholarship program 2022. In addition to supporting the internationalization of vocational training centers in Quebec, this program offers talented international students the chance to follow professional training in the province.

Through the Quebec Ministry of Education, the Canadian government funds two programs for vocational training. Merit Scholarships are the first program, and Tuition Exemption Scholarships are the second. Both types of scholarships are selected using the same process. Applications are being accepted for professional training courses starting in August 2022.

It is only vocational training that is covered by both scholarship programs. This program does not cover bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD programs.

• The benefits of Quebec scholarships for vocational training

You can work up to 20 hours per week along with your training in both programs. Both programs (merit scholarship and tuition fee exemption) do not require you to return home after you complete your training. At the end of your training, you can apply for a work permit from Canada without returning home.

Merit scholarship :

1. International students are exempt from tuition fees.
2. Insurance for health care.
3. The scholarship covers the student’s living expenses during the training program, ranging from $14,000 to $26,000.

Tuition Exemption Scholarships:

1. Tuition exemption.
2. No other benefits.

Eligibility for Quebec scholarships for vocational training

Applicants to the Quebec scholarship program must meet the following requirements:

• Be of nationality other than French or Canadian. Priority will be given to candidates from member countries of La Francophonie, China, India, Japan, Mexico, and Brazil.
• You must be outside of Canada at the time of application submission and until the results are announced.
• Not having Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status, or being in the process of obtaining permanent residency.
• You must be at least 18 years old, but there is no age limit.
• Having not received a scholarship in Quebec. Furthermore, other scholarships cannot be accumulated during the same academic year.
• Financially capable:
  • A minimum of US$2,281 is required if you wish to apply for the Merit Scholarship.
  • To qualify for the Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship, you must have at least US$11,409.

How to apply?

Follow these steps to apply for Quebec scholarships for vocational training:

1. Choose your training program and your training center from the provided list (only one choice is possible).
2. Identify the scholarship program you are applying for: merit scholarship and exemption OR merit scholarship only.
3. Register on this portal.

In order to register for the Quebec scholarships for vocational training, you will need to upload the following documents:

• Your passport’s main page.
• Please provide a copy of your birth certificate.
• You must provide a copy of all diplomas you have earned and all transcripts from your last school year.
• Certificates, prizes, awards, or honors received.
• Two letters of recommendation completed by two different people (FR or EN).
• Unless you have completed a 2-year higher education program in English, a proof of your academic English proficiency results (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.).
• For the chosen award program ($3 000 or $15 000), the candidate must provide proof of sufficient financial capacity, either on their own or through a guarantor. Bank statements, payslips, salary certificates, etc., are all examples of proof of income. A well-signed declaration of intent must be provided by the guarantor and he must prove his family relationship with the candidate.
