2. ASCLD Annual Scholarship Awards

Through the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD), annual scholarship awards are distributed for $1,000 to junior, senior, and graduate students who are currently pursuing a college degree in forensic science, forensic chemistry, or closely related physical and natural sciences.
Qualified bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree students must be attending an accredited U.S. institution, enroll in a program approved by the FEPAC, and be supported by a recommendation from a faculty member or lab director.

3. Ellis R. Kerley Forensic Sciences Scholarship

In honor of the pioneering forensic anthropologist who devised a precise way to positively identify the remains of bones with the Kerley Method, the Ellis R. Kerley Forensic Sciences Scholarship is awarded annually for up to $2,500 to encourage talented students to expand their capacity for making a difference in forensic anthropology.
Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program leading to a master’s or doctoral degree, be sponsored by an ABFA member, and have student membership with the AAFS.

Sponsored by the Southwestern Association of Forensic Scientists (SWAFS), the Floyd E. McDonald Scholarship Fund offers one $1,000 award annually to junior or senior-level undergraduate students who are currently pursuing a career in the forensic sciences with a chemistry, biology, or natural science major.

At the CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice, the Gary Boccia Memorial Scholarship is awarded each fall for $500 to a full-time or part-time undergraduate student currently enrolled in the college’s forensic science degree program.

This Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) scholarship honors the legacy of Dr. Paul B. 12. NEAFS Scholarship Program

Since its inception in 1976, the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists (NEAFS) has hosted a yearly scholarship program to provide $1,000 to currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who are pursuing an accredited degree in forensic science.
Qualified candidates must have at least junior-level status with good academic standing at a four-year institution in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or New Jersey.

At the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, the Sandy Jeffers Memorial Scholarship has been awarded annually since 2003 to provide at least $500 to currently enrolled undergraduate students who are studying historical or forensic anthropology within the Department of Anthropology.

Administered through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Nuclear Forensics Undergraduate Scholarship Program provides a $10,000 stipend annually to worthy upper-division undergraduate students who are pursuing degrees in forensic science, physics, chemistry, nuclear engineering, or materials science.
Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an accredited institution, have U.S. citizenship, and exhibit a clear dedication for entering a career in the nuclear forensics community upon graduation.

The Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners (ATFE) offers a $2,000 scholarship on an annual basis to students pursuing a career in forensic science and who are in their junior or senior year of a bachelor’s degree program or in an advanced degree program.
The scholarship is granted on a merit basis, but letters of recommendation, contributions to the field, and the applicant’s narrative statement are also considered.
A minimum 3.0 GPA is required. Scholarships are granted at the beginning of each new school year, but applications are due by April 1 of the preceding spring.
