Flinders University is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students for their Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship. It is a fully-funded scholarship for all students.
About Flinders University
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia.
Founded in 1966, it was named in honor of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century.
The Commonwealth government and Flinders University have established the Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (ICAS) to assist indigenous students with accommodation and/or relocation costs associated with their study at Flinders University.
Aim and Benefits of Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship
The number of ICAS available each year will be determined by annual funding from the Commonwealth government. Each scholarship will be valued at $7500 per annum paid in two installments of $3750.

Requirements for Scholarship
All scholarship applicants must:
1. Be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; and
2. Identify as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; and
3. Be accepted as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander by the community in which they live or have lived; and
4. Normally be enrolled full-time at Flinders University in an undergraduate or postgraduate course of study or the Foundation Studies program; and
5. Have a permanent home address in Inner or Outer Regional, Remote or Very Remote Australia as defined by the Australian Standard Geographic Classification (ASGC); and
6. Have relocated to undertake study as per section 2.10.15 of the Commonwealth Scholarship Guidelines (Education) 2010; and
7. Not be in receipt of a Relocation Scholarship (available to ABSTUDY and Youth Allowance recipients); and
8. Not be in receipt of the ABSTUDY residential costs payment.
