– School of Biomedical Sciences Vacation Scholarship –
The University of Newcastle’s School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students into their School of Biomedical Sciences Vacation Scholarship for students. It is a funded scholarship for all students.
About School of Biomedical Sciences Vacation Scholarship
This fellowship is for students who show a strong interest in and commitment to engaging in supervised research relevant to their program of study at the University of Newcastle’s School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy between December 2021 and February 2022.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) programs in the School of Biomedical Sciences & Pharmacy.
2. Demonstrate an interest in gaining experience in a research laboratory over a vacation period.
3. Students from other relevant undergraduate programs may apply if they meet the selection criteria.

Required Documentation
If documentation is not provided, your application will not be processed. Please have all required documents available for upload as PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, or JPG files prior to completing the online application process.
A brief statement (maximum 300 words) outlining your preferred research topic/s, why you are interested in actively taking part in a particular area of research, and future goals and aspirations.
Benefit
Ten (10) $2,000 scholarships are offered. This reward will be paid once the scholarship offer has been accepted.
Although participation is entirely , the scholarship will provide participants with the opportunity to actively take part in specific research projects over the course of an eight-week period. This will provide you with the chance to develop new research skills in a research lab and improve your presentation skills by presenting your work to the project team.
If you are working on a project, the Head of School would like to see the PowerPoint presentation and a brief comment about the benefits of actively taking part in the learning opportunity, which is due on February 18th, 2022.
Selection
Suitability for the desired topic, academic merit (Cumulative Grade Point Average), and examination of your written proposal and showed interest in the study area/s will all be factored in your selection. The Head of School, School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy, will make recommendations.
