Job description

The programme offers the opportunity for lectureship at the Centre of Excellence in Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Benin. The details are as follows:

Position Requirements

  • Senior lecturers and above

Duration: 

12 months (non-renewable)

Discipline Areas:

  • Petroleum Geology, Geophysics and Petroleum Engineering.

General Eligibility Criteria for Shell Nigeria Sabbatical Attachment 2021

To be eligible for these jobs, the applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Possession of B.Sc, , OND in relation to the applied position from a recognized institution.
  2. Any added certificate either postgraduate or professional certification will be of advantage.
  3. NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.
  4. Applicants must not be above 35 years old.
  5. West African School Certificate (WAEC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects; or
  6. Candidates must have National Examination Council (NECO)/General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings including the English Language.)
  7.  (ND) obtained from a recognized institution. National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution; or General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) in two (2) subjects obtained at one sitting or three (3) subjects obtained at two sittings.
  8. Must be computer literate.

How to Apply

Applications from candidates should consist of:

  1. an application letter,
  2. a curriculum vitae including applicant’s contact phone number, email address, as well as contact information of three referees
  3. a one-page summary of how the candidate intends to add value to the SPDC business during the one-year programme.
  4. a scanned copy of International Passport data page or National Driver’s Licence

Sabbatical positions are highly competitive and selection will be based on proposals that are pertinent to SPDC business objectives. Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
