Pro Kabaddi League
Sunil Kumar Malik played for the Patna Pirates in the season 4 of the Pro Kabaddi League. He played only one match in the league. In Season 5, he was bought by for Gujarat Fortunegiants for Rs 30.40 lakh. He pick up 39 tackle points and -1 raid point in the match. He continued to represent the team for the Season 6, 7 and 8. He captained the team for the season 6 and 7. In season 9 of the PKL, he was bought by the team Jaipur Pink Panthers for Rs 90 Lakh. He also became the captain of the team for the season. In the match, he played total 23 matches and scored 64 tackle points.
In 2023, he represented Jaipur Pink Panthers in the Season 10.

He made his debut in the South Asia Games in 2019, where the Indian team won the 1st gold medal for the country. In 2021, he took part in the 68th Senior National Kabaddi Championship, where he scored 253 tackle points and 3 raid points. In the 69th Senior National Kabaddi Championship he picked up 14 tackle points and 4 raid points. In 2023, he was part of the Indian team that won gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games by defeating Iran by 33-29 in the finals. He was also the vice captain of the Indian team.

- He was spotted by Jaivir Sharma after he won a gold in the University Nationals. Jaivir Sharma trained him at Sports Authority of India, Gandhinagar.
