TYPES OF SOIL STRUCTURE | MARTINS LIBRARY

There  are size broad categories  of soil structure.          

1.       Granular (high permeability), the diameter of the  rounded structure is about 15mm, it is weak  and  porous

2.      Single grain: (highly permeable),  aggregates  are no cemented   together

3.       Blocky (,moderate permeability’ 5-50mm in  diameter, they  are (aid  in block or irregular form

4.      Platey (low permeability) diameter is  1-10mm, laid  in plate like forms  

5.      Columnar or  prismatic (low permeabity)  10-100 mm in diameter, they  are arranged in prism. Like  manner with the vertical axis  longer than the horizontal 

6.      Massive structure  (low permeabity)
